Oak Island, NC
The complex is adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway and is approximately 400,000 square feet of heated space in five individual five-story buildings and a one-story clubhouse. The five-story structures are post-tensioned flat plate concrete with reinforced concrete columns and shear walls. The clubhouse is wood construction. The seismic site class was an “F”, therefore Woods Engineering, PA worked with geotechnical engineers to remediate the site with vibro-compaction stone columns and earthquake drains.
